Paraffin hand bath therapy
Paraffin hand bath therapy is an ap-plication of the molten paraffin wax on the hand. After being applied to the hand, the wax encases the treated area, trapping heat and relaxing the surrounding tissues. This makes it par-ticularly helpful for treating stiff joints and alleviating pain associated with ar-thritis, fibromyalgia, bursitis, tendon-itis and sore muscles. The temperature of the paraffin wax is maintaining at 40 – 44°C, where as its melting point is 51 – 55°C. The paraffin wax is applied on 2 – 3 layers on the hands with fol-lowing 15 – 20 minutes of relaxation in wrap.
